This policy applies to all websites operated by LPZ Publishing and Consulting LLC, including:

How long do we store your data?
We store personal data only as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected.
Once that purpose no longer applies, or if you withdraw your consent, we will delete your data – unless legal obligations (such as tax or commercial retention laws) require us to keep it longer.

Legal grounds for processing
Depending on the context, we process your data based on:

  • Your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
  • The fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
  • Our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • For sensitive data, if applicable: Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR
  • For data transfers outside the EU: Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR with your consent

The specific legal basis for each processing activity is mentioned in the relevant sections of this policy.

Transfers to third countries
Some tools we use involve the transfer of data to countries outside the EU. In some cases, these countries may not have the same level of data protection.

Whenever possible, we use providers that are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) or rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other safeguards to ensure your data is handled responsibly.

Details about these tools and their legal status can be found in the relevant sections of this document.

Who receives your data?
We only share your data with external parties if:

  • it’s necessary to fulfill a contract,
  • we are legally obligated to do so,
  • we have a legitimate interest,
  • or you have given consent.

When we work with service providers (processors), we have signed data processing agreements (DPAs) to ensure GDPR compliance.
If joint processing applies, we establish joint responsibility agreements as required by law.

Your Rights under the GDPR

If the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you – for example, if you are located in the European Union – you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access – to know what data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification – to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure – to request deletion of your data, where legally permitted
  • Right to restriction – to limit how your data is used
  • Right to data portability – to receive your data in a structured format
  • Right to object – to certain types of processing, especially direct marketing
  • Right to withdraw consent – at any time, with effect for the future
  • Right to lodge a complaint – with a data protection authority

You may contact us at any time if you wish to exercise any of these rights. We treat such requests with care and in accordance with applicable laws.

Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent to any data processing at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out before your withdrawal.

Right to object to data processing

If we process your personal data based on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time, if you have reasons related to your personal situation. This also applies to profiling based on those interests.

If you object, we will stop processing your data – unless we can demonstrate compelling legal grounds that outweigh your interests, or the data is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Right to object to direct marketing

If your personal data is used for direct marketing, you can object at any time – no explanation needed. This also includes any related profiling. Once you object, we will stop using your data for that purpose.

Right to file a complaint

If you believe your data is being processed in violation of applicable laws, you have the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority, especially in the EU country where you live, work, or where the issue occurred.

Right to data portability

If we process your data based on your consent or in connection with a contract, you can request that we provide you with a copy of your data in a machine-readable format, or that we transfer it directly to another provider – if technically feasible.

Right to access, correction and deletion

You have the right to request:

  • Access to the data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate or outdated information
  • Deletion of your data, if no legal reason requires us to retain it

Right to restrict processing

You may request a restriction of processing in these cases:

  • You dispute the accuracy of your data (for the duration of verification)
  • Processing is unlawful, but you prefer restriction over deletion
  • We no longer need the data, but you need it for legal claims
  • You objected to processing under Art. 21(1) GDPR, and the balance of interests is still being assessed

When processing is restricted, your data will not be used for any purpose other than storage – unless you give consent, or processing is needed to assert or defend legal claims, to protect others, or to serve an important public interest.

Secure transmission (SSL/TLS)

All communication between your browser and our website is protected using SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize this by the “https://” in the address bar and the lock icon in your browser. This means that any data you share with us – such as messages or form entries – is transmitted securely and cannot be read by third parties.

Secure payment processing

If we ever offer paid services that require you to enter payment details (such as a credit card number or bank account), these details will also be transmitted exclusively over encrypted connections. We use standard industry encryption to ensure your information stays safe during payment transactions.

No tolerance for spam

We do not accept unsolicited advertising or marketing messages. Any misuse of contact information published on this website for such purposes is not permitted.

Hosting & Access Logs

Our websites are hosted by professional service providers that ensure reliable and secure access. When you visit our sites, certain data is automatically collected by the server and stored in access logs. This includes:

  • Your IP address (anonymized where possible)
  • Date and time of the request
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL (the page you visited before)
  • Hostname of the accessing device

This information is used for technical monitoring, to ensure stability and security of our services, and to prevent abuse (e.g. DDoS attacks or spam). We do not use this data to personally identify visitors. The legal basis (where GDPR applies) is our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). EU websites are hosted by dataforest GmbH, Taunusstraße 52 65830 Kriftel,  (Germany), a professional provider that ensures secure and privacy-conscious server infrastructure.

Use of Cloudflare

We use services from Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, to improve the security and performance of our websites. Cloudflare operates a global content delivery network (CDN) and acts as a reverse proxy. This means that data traffic between your browser and our server may be routed through Cloudflare’s infrastructure. This helps block harmful activity (like bots or attacks) and ensures faster access from different locations.

As part of this service, Cloudflare may temporarily process:

  • your IP address
  • technical request data (e.g. browser type, device info, requested URL)
  • and may place security-related cookies in your browser.

This processing is done solely for performance and protection purposes. Cloudflare does not use this data for its own marketing. The legal basis (where GDPR applies) is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), and we have signed a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
Data transfers to the US are based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) issued by the European Commission.

Use of Bunny.net CDN

We use Bunny.net, a content delivery network (CDN) provided by BunnyWay d.o.o., Dunajska cesta 165, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia. Bunny.net helps us improve website performance and availability around the world. When you visit our site, information from your browser (such as page requests and IP addresses) is technically routed through Bunny.net’s infrastructure. In the process, your IP address is recorded – but anonymized where possible. Bunny.net does not use this data for its own purposes. If you submit information via forms on our site (e.g. contact forms), it may also briefly pass through Bunny.net’s secure infrastructure. We use Bunny.net based on our legitimate interest in delivering a fast and reliable website experience (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

A data processing agreement (DPA) has been signed with Bunny.net to ensure that all data is handled in accordance with the GDPR.

Contact Form & Email Communication

When you contact us via a form on our website or by email, we process the information you provide in order to respond to your inquiry. This typically includes your name, email address, and any message content you send us. We treat all communication with respect and confidentiality. Your data will not be shared with third parties without your permission, unless legally required. The information is stored only as long as necessary to respond to your message or fulfill any resulting obligations. We do not add contact form submissions to mailing lists unless you explicitly ask us to. Where applicable, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual request) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).

User Accounts & Comments

User registration

You may choose to register on our website to access additional features or services. We will only use the data you provide during registration for the purpose of delivering the function you signed up for. Required fields must be filled out truthfully. We may use the email address provided to inform you about important updates or technical changes. Your data is processed based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a user relationship or pre-contractual actions). The data remains stored for as long as your account is active. Once your account is deleted, we will remove the associated data unless legal obligations require retention.

Comments on the website

When you leave a comment on our site, we store:

  • the content of your comment
  • your name or username (if provided)
  • your email address
  • your IP address
  • and the time of posting

We collect this information to ensure a respectful and lawful comment space.
We do not review comments before publishing, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates rights or laws.

Subscribing to comments

If you choose to follow replies to a comment thread, you’ll receive a confirmation email to verify your address. You can unsubscribe from comment notifications at any time using the link in those emails.

Storage period

Comments and associated metadata are stored until the related content is removed from the website or until the comment must be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. offensive or unlawful content).

Legal basis

Comment data is processed based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time – simply send us an informal email. This will not affect the legality of data already processed before the withdrawal.

Social Media Integration (Shariff)

We may include buttons or links to social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, or others on our website. To protect your privacy, we use the Shariff method. This means: No data is sent to social media providers when you simply visit our website. A connection to the provider’s servers is only made after you click on a social media button. Only then will your IP address and possibly other browser data be transmitted to the respective platform. If you're logged in to your account on that platform at the same time, your visit may be linked to your user profile.

By clicking the button, you give your consent to this connection (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25(1) TDDDG). You may withdraw that consent at any time. We use this approach to ensure social features are only active with your clear choice – not automatically.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager helps us manage and integrate various tools on our website – such as analytics or marketing services.
The tool itself:

  • does not set cookies,
  • does not collect personal data for its own purposes,
  • and does not build user profiles.

However, Tag Manager may process your IP address during loading – and in some cases, this may involve transfer to Google LLC in the United States.

We use Google Tag Manager based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in efficiently organizing the technical tools we use.
If cookies or other tracking tools are triggered via Tag Manager, this happens only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25(1) TDDDG).

Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF).

Newsletter & Email Updates (via Mautic)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address only to send you the updates and inspirations you requested. We may also ask for additional information – but only if it helps us personalize the content or confirm your consent. We will never share your email address with third parties.

Consent and unsubscribe

The subscription is based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time – for example, by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any newsletter.

This will not affect the lawfulness of any emails sent before your withdrawal.

Storage and data handling

We keep your data only as long as you’re subscribed. Once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from our mailing list – unless legal reasons require otherwise. To prevent accidental re-subscription, your email may be stored on a blocklist after unsubscribing. This is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to respect your wishes and comply with anti-spam rules. Data stored for other purposes (e.g. customer accounts or purchases) remains unaffected.

Technical Details

We use Mautic, an open-source marketing platform provided by Acquia Inc., 53 State St, Boston, MA 02109, USA.

Mautic helps us manage and optimize our communication – for example by:

  • creating landing pages and forms
  • sending personalized email messages
  • tracking interactions (such as downloads or page views)
  • planning and evaluating campaigns

To do this, Mautic may assign a unique ID to visitors and store information such as:

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • browser language
  • pages visited and time of access
  • previous interactions with our content

Mautic uses cookies or similar technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting) to enable these features. This happens only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25 TDDDG).
If you do not consent, no tracking is performed beyond essential website functionality. We also have a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in improving our communication in a respectful and non-invasive way. We host Mautic on our own servers, and all data remains under our control. IP addresses are automatically anonymized, so they cannot be directly linked to individuals.

Acquia (as the provider of Mautic) is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF).

Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram Ads)

We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland – to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram advertising. When you click on one of our Meta ads and visit our website, this tool allows us to track user behavior (e.g. page views, downloads, purchases). This helps us understand which campaigns are successful and improve future advertising.

How it works

Meta Pixel sets a unique identifier and records:

  • IP address
  • device/browser type
  • visited pages
  • time of access
  • (optionally) hashed user data like email, name or postcode (extended matching)

This information may be linked to your Meta account and used to display personalized ads across Facebook, Instagram, and partner sites.

Consent and control

Meta Pixel is only active with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw this consent at any time via our cookie settings. Meta is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). More info: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/4452

You can adjust your Meta ad preferences here:
Or globally via the European opt-out portal:

Joint responsibility (Art. 26 GDPR)

When you interact with our website and the Meta Pixel is active, we and Meta share responsibility for the data collection and transmission to Meta.
This is based on a joint controller agreement:

Meta alone is responsible for all further processing once the data has been received.
If you exercise your rights under GDPR (e.g. data access, deletion), you can contact Meta directly.
If you contact us, we are obligated to forward your request.

Pinterest Tag

We use the Pinterest Tag, a conversion tracking tool provided by Pinterest Europe Ltd., Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland. This tool helps us understand which actions visitors take on our website (e.g. purchases or video views), so we can show relevant Pinterest ads to users who are interested in our content.

To do this, Pinterest may process:

  • a unique tag ID
  • your location
  • the referring URL
  • user actions (e.g. order value, product categories, video interactions)

Pinterest uses cookies and similar technologies (such as device fingerprinting) to track visitor behavior across different websites.

Legal basis and consent

We use Pinterest Tag only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25 TDDDG). You can withdraw this consent at any time via our cookie settings. If no consent is given, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding the effectiveness of our advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data protection & international transfers

Pinterest may transfer data to the United States or other countries. Such transfers are secured by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. We have a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in place with Pinterest to ensure GDPR compliance.

AnalyticsWP allows us to see aggregated statistics such as:

  • Which pages are visited most often
  • Where visitors come from (referral URLs)
  • Which devices or browsers are used
  • Approximate location (country level only, if available)

No cookies are set, and no personal user profiles are created. IP addresses are anonymized before being processed.

Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the user experience on our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies on our website

We use cookies to make our website function smoothly and to understand how it is being used. Cookies are small text files stored in your browser – some are temporary ("session cookies"), others remain until manually deleted ("persistent cookies").

There are two main types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies – required for core features (e.g. language settings, form protection, login)
  • Optional cookies – used for analytics, embedded media, or personalization

Essential cookies are stored based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in providing a stable, secure and user-friendly experience. Optional cookies (including those set by third-party services) are used only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25(1) TDDDG, where applicable). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Embedded Content (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo)

YouTube (Enhanced Privacy Mode)

We embed videos from YouTube, a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. To protect your data, we use YouTube’s enhanced privacy mode.
This means:

  • No cookies are placed until you actively click to play a video
  • Your visit will not be used to personalize recommendations or ads
  • YouTube may still use local storage technologies to recognize returning users

Once you click to play a video, your browser connects to YouTube’s servers. At that point, YouTube may:

  • record which pages you visited
  • associate this with your YouTube or Google account (if you're logged in)
  • trigger further data processing we can’t control

Legal basis and consent

Embedding YouTube videos helps us present our content in a rich and appealing way – this is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If consent is required for cookies or similar technologies, we will request it in advance (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR & § 25(1) TDDDG). You can revoke your consent at any time.

Vimeo (Do-Not-Track Mode)

We use video plugins from Vimeo, a service provided by Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011, USA.

To respect your privacy, we’ve enabled Do-Not-Track mode.
This means:

  • Vimeo does not place cookies
  • Vimeo does not track user activity across websites
  • Your IP address and the page you visited are transmitted to Vimeo only when a video is loaded

We use Vimeo to present content in a smooth and visually appealing way. This use is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your consent is required for certain browser technologies, it will be obtained beforehand (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
